Who am I ?
I am a Semi-pro, mature, experienced, creative, quality Drummer based near St Albans, Hertfordshire, UK, interested in a widening variety of styles of drumming – incl. US Blues, Alt. country, Folk, Americana, Rock’n’ Roll – basically I’m not a Prog or double pedal Metal kinda fella !. ( Click on any highlighted name in the text for the respective website)
I have played drums with Chris Lord & her Blues Express, have depped for Roadhouse, local Blues Bands & regular covers bands and am a regular at various jam nights in the UK . Currently working on some new projects, – – – – but I am also keen to explore other styles of drumming , so I’m always up for a challenge – try me !
I have a professional attitude & I’m always on the look out for good standard musicians wanting a drummer (Permanent & / or Dep.) , to be creative & develop their own material plus choice covers, and to gig regularly.
I specialise in Texas Blues shuffles, funky shuffle with groove, Blues, Rock’n’Roll, swing – All with feel & dynamics ! I also have the ability, & enjoy ,playing quietly with Brushes – Jazz swing & country on minimal kit.
With over 10 years drumming experience, incl. drum lessons at London drum college DrumTech, I am mentored by friend & UK Pro Drummer, Sam Kelly,(Voted into Blues In Britain magazine Gallery of the Greats, as a five-times winner of the ‘UK Drummer of the Year’ award) and coached by Martin Ranscombe (aka ‘The Drum Guru’) .
Through my Blog I would like to share reflections on my experiences of the ongoing process of learning the drums, news of Bands & music that interest me at the moment.
My journey with music and drumming is closely allied with my life experiences. This experience, along with insights into all aspects of a creative pursuit, I would like to share & connect with a wider audience – so have a look at my Blog and join in with your views !
Any comments on this site are purely my opinion and I’m interested to hear your stories and views too on subjects I raise. See you on the next ‘page’ – – – – – and don’t be late !!
